This is a collective and class action on behalf of employees who worked at The Venetian/The Palazzo as housekeepers and were required to work off the clock and without compensation during the time it took them to stock their cleaning carts prior to the beginning of their shifts, and for the time they were required to attend pre-shift meetings without pay.
The District Court judge granted conditional certification of the federal collective action claims against the Venetian/Palazzo on behalf of housekeepers who worked at either The Venetian and/or The Palazzo and were required to work off the clock and without compensation. Plaintiffs alleged they were not paid for the time it took them to verify the property and floor they were working on for the day, the time it took them to stock their cleaning carts prior to the beginning of their shifts, and for working during meal breaks or after their shifts had ended.
The complaint was filed against The Venetian Casino Resort, LLC in Clark County Nevada on October 27, 2016 but was removed to federal court in December. The operative Fourth Amended Complaint is attached here.
You may be eligible to join the lawsuit if you worked at The Venetian and/or The Palazzo as a housekeeper anytime between October 27, 2013 and the present. A Notice of the action was mailed to current and former housekeepers instructing them how to opt-in to the lawsuit in order to preserve their statute of limitations and be eligible for any unpaid wages should the Court find in favor of Plaintiffs.
